supply-siders
Trickle-down believers
Supply-siders are economists and politicians who believe that reducing taxes—especially on businesses and high earners—stimulates economic growth more effectively than increasing government spending.
The theory holds that lower taxes encourage investment and production, with benefits eventually reaching everyone.
The term emerged in the 1980s with Reaganomics: Supply-siders promised the tax cuts would pay for themselves.
