sunrise service
Dawn Easter gathering
A sunrise service is a Christian worship gathering held outdoors at dawn on Easter Sunday, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The timing connects to the biblical account of women discovering the empty tomb "very early in the morning." Churches often hold these services in parks, cemeteries, or on hillsides: We attended the sunrise service at the amphitheater overlooking the lake.
