subpart
Division within division
A subpart is a division within a larger part—a part of a part.
The term appears most often in legal, technical, and regulatory contexts where documents are organized hierarchically: See subpart C of section 12.
In manufacturing, a subpart is a component that itself belongs to a larger component: The assembly manual lists every subpart.
