subdomains
Prefixed web addresses
Subdomains are divisions of a larger domain, most commonly in web addresses where they appear before the main domain name: blog.example.com, mail.google.com.
They organize different sections or services under one umbrella.
The term extends to any subdivision within a broader category: Phonology is a subdomain of linguistics.
