stuporous
Mentally checked out
Stuporous describes a state of near-unconsciousness or severely diminished responsiveness.
The term is primarily medical, characterizing patients who can be roused only by vigorous stimulation and immediately lapse back into unresponsiveness: The patient remained stuporous following the overdose.
Outside clinical settings, it can describe extreme grogginess or mental dullness: stuporous from lack of sleep.
