student fraternities
Campus brotherhood groups
Student fraternities are social organizations at colleges and universities, typically for men, identified by Greek letters: He pledged Sigma Chi his sophomore year.
Members live together, host parties, and form lifelong networks.
Fraternities are associated with exclusivity, drinking culture, and sometimes hazing scandals, though many emphasize service and academic achievement.
The female equivalent is a sorority.
