composite photo
Combined picture elements
A composite photo is an image created by combining elements from multiple photographs into a single picture.
The technique serves legitimate purposes in art and advertising, but also enables deceptive manipulation: The tabloid ran a composite photo showing the politician with a woman he'd never met.
Digital tools have made creating convincing composites far easier than traditional darkroom methods.
