strikeover
Character typed over
A strikeover is a typed character superimposed on another, creating a messy correction on the page—the result of backspacing on a manual typewriter and typing a new letter over the mistake.
Before correction fluid and word processors, strikeouts and overstrikes were common solutions: The letter was full of strikeouts and strikeovers.
