Straight-acting describes a gay person, usually a man, whose mannerisms and behavior don't conform to stereotypically gay presentation.
The term appears in dating profiles and personal ads, sometimes as a preference: Looking for straight-acting guys only.
Critics note it implies that appearing heterosexual is desirable and that visibly gay behavior is inferior.
