stitch markers
Loop position indicators
Stitch markers are small rings or clips used in knitting and crochet to mark specific points in a pattern—the beginning of a round, where to increase or decrease, or to separate pattern repeats.
They slide onto the needle or hook between stitches and move along as the work progresses: I use stitch markers every ten stitches so I don't lose count.
