darning needles
Hosiery repair tools
Darning needles are large, blunt-tipped needles with eyes big enough for yarn or heavy thread, used to repair holes in fabric by weaving new threads through the worn area.
The term also refers colloquially to dragonflies, from their long, needle-like bodies: Kids at the lake called the dragonflies darning needles.
