stegosauruses
Spiked-tail herbivores
Stegosauruses is the plural of stegosaurus, a plant-eating dinosaur from the late Jurassic period, recognizable by the double row of bony plates along its back and the spiked tail.
The name means "roofed lizard," from early assumptions about how the plates were arranged.
The museum's dinosaur hall featured two stegosauruses.
