stage monitor
Performer's audio reference
A stage monitor is a speaker facing performers on stage, allowing them to hear themselves and other musicians during a live performance.
Unlike main speakers that project sound to the audience, monitors point backward so performers can stay in time and on pitch.
Floor monitors (wedges) sit at performers' feet; in-ear monitors deliver sound through earpieces.
The drummer asked for more vocals in his monitor.
