Self-closing door mechanism
A spring latch is a door fastening mechanism that uses a spring-loaded bolt with an angled face.
When the door closes, the bolt retracts automatically against the strike plate, then springs back into place to hold the door shut.
Unlike a deadbolt, a spring latch can be opened simply by turning the handle: The spring latch clicked as she pulled the door closed behind her.
