sportscards
Athlete picture collectibles
Sportscards are collectible trading cards featuring athletes, typically with a photograph on the front and statistics or biographical information on the back.
Baseball cards established the format in the late 19th century; football, basketball, and hockey cards followed.
Value depends on the player's fame, the card's condition, and rarity.
Collectors grade, trade, and speculate on sportscards as investments: His rookie card is worth thousands now.
