Splitscreen is a display technique showing two or more separate views simultaneously on the same screen.
In video games, splitscreen allows multiple players to share one television, each seeing their own portion: We played splitscreen multiplayer all night.
In film and television, splitscreen shows parallel action or phone conversations.
The term works as noun, adjective, or verb: splitscreen the footage, a splitscreen view.
