spiral pass
Quarterback's tight throw
A spiral pass is a throw in American football where the ball rotates tightly around its long axis, cutting through the air with stability and accuracy.
The spiral is the mark of a good throw—wobbly passes travel shorter distances and are harder to catch.
He threw a perfect spiral pass for the touchdown.
