sound cannons
Long-range acoustic devices
Sound cannons are devices that project intense, focused beams of sound, used for crowd control, dispersal, or communication over long distances.
Also called acoustic devices or LRADs (Long Range Acoustic Devices), they can emit painful tones to drive people away or broadcast messages clearly across large areas: Police deployed sound cannons against the protesters.
