songster
One who croons
A songster is someone who sings, especially one who sings well or frequently.
The word has an old-fashioned, slightly whimsical quality: The old songster entertained us with ballads from his youth.
It can also refer to a songbird.
The feminine form songstress exists but sounds dated.
