social media addicts
Chronic feed checkers
Social media addicts are people who compulsively use platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter to the point where it interferes with daily life.
The term borrows the language of substance addiction to describe habitual scrolling, checking notifications, or seeking validation through likes and comments: Social media addicts can't put their phones down even during dinner.
The phrase implies criticism—that someone has lost control over their usage.
