snow fencing
Seasonal drift control
Snow fencing is lightweight, portable fencing—typically orange plastic mesh or wooden slats—used to control drifting snow.
Placed upwind of roads, driveways, or buildings, it slows wind and causes snow to accumulate before reaching the protected area rather than piling against structures or across pavement.
The same fencing often appears at beaches to prevent sand erosion.
