smokeout
Drive into open
A smokeout is an event encouraging people to quit smoking, typically for a designated period.
The Great American Smokeout, held annually in November, challenges smokers to abstain for one day as a first step toward quitting permanently.
The term also describes forcing someone or something out of hiding, as smoke drives animals from dens: They tried to smokeout the fugitive.
