smoke-in
Public cannabis protest
A smoke-in is a form of protest where participants publicly smoke marijuana to challenge cannabis prohibition laws.
Modeled on the sit-ins of the civil rights movement, smoke-ins emerged in the 1960s and 1970s as acts of civil disobedience: The annual smoke-in at the Washington Monument drew hundreds of activists.
