sleep stages
Cycles of rest
Sleep stages are the distinct phases the brain cycles through during sleep, typically divided into REM (rapid eye movement) and non-REM stages.
Non-REM includes light sleep and progressively deeper stages; REM is when most dreaming occurs.
A complete cycle takes roughly ninety minutes and repeats several times nightly.
The sleep tracker showed I wasn't getting enough deep sleep stages.
