night terrors
Childhood sleep horrors
Night terrors are episodes of intense fear during sleep, typically in children, marked by screaming, thrashing, and apparent terror while remaining asleep and unresponsive.
Unlike nightmares, the sleeper usually has no memory of the episode afterward.
The pediatrician said night terrors are common and usually outgrow themselves.
