slave army
Forced combatant workforce
A slave army is a military force composed of enslaved soldiers, typically captured in war or purchased for combat service.
Historically, such armies could wield significant power despite their bondage—the Mamluks of Egypt rose from slave soldiers to rulers.
The term also appears in fantasy and historical fiction: The dark lord commanded a slave army of thousands.
