ski tracks

Parallel slope marks

Ski tracks are the parallel grooves or lines left in snow by skis.

On groomed cross-country trails, ski tracks are deliberately cut channels that guide skiers along the route: Stay in the ski tracks on the downhill sections.

In backcountry or resort skiing, ski tracks simply mark where someone has skied before.
