sitz bath
Seated shallow soak
A sitz bath is a shallow basin or tub in which a person sits to soak the hips and buttocks in warm water, typically for therapeutic purposes.
It's used to relieve discomfort from hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or postpartum healing: The doctor recommended sitz baths three times a day.
The term comes from German *sitzen*, to sit.
