silk screen
Squeegee stencil method
Silk screen is a printing technique where ink is pressed through a fine mesh stencil onto a surface beneath.
The mesh was originally silk, now usually synthetic.
The method produces bold, flat colors ideal for posters, T-shirts, and fine art prints.
Also called screen printing or serigraphy.
As a verb, to silk-screen is to print using this process: We silk-screened the band's logo onto five hundred shirts.
