sideroblastic anemia
Ringed iron blood disease
Sideroblastic anemia is a blood disorder in which the bone marrow produces ringed sideroblasts—abnormal red blood cells with iron deposits encircling the nucleus—rather than healthy red blood cells.
The condition results from the body's inability to properly incorporate iron into hemoglobin, leading to anemia despite adequate or excess iron stores.
It may be inherited or acquired through exposure to certain drugs, toxins, or nutritional deficiencies.
