sidenote
Tangential written comment
A sidenote is a comment or piece of information that's tangential to the main discussion—worth mentioning but not central: As a sidenote, the building was designed by the same architect.
Originally a marginal note printed alongside the main text, the word now usually introduces brief digressions in speech or writing.
