shopping bot

Digital purchase assistant

A shopping bot is automated software that performs online shopping tasks—comparing prices across websites, finding deals, monitoring stock, or completing purchases.

Some shopping bots help consumers find bargains; others are used to snap up limited items like concert tickets or sneakers before human buyers can, a practice retailers try to block.
