shewbread

Sacred display bread

Shewbread is an archaic spelling of showbread, the twelve loaves of unleavened bread placed weekly on a table in the Jewish Temple as an offering to God.

The term appears in older translations of the Bible, particularly the King James Version: And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me always.
