shallow fry
Cook in little oil
Shallow fry is a cooking technique where food is cooked in a small amount of hot oil or fat—enough to cover perhaps half the item's thickness.
Unlike deep frying, which submerges food completely, shallow frying requires turning the food partway through to cook both sides.
It's the standard method for pan-frying eggs, fish fillets, and breaded cutlets.
Shallow fry the chicken until golden brown on each side.
