service members
Armed forces employees
Service members are people serving in a country's armed forces—soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and coast guard personnel.
The term is deliberately inclusive, covering all military branches regardless of rank or role: The ceremony honored service members and their families.
It has largely replaced "servicemen" as the gender-neutral standard in official and journalistic usage.
