self-edit
Fix your own
Self-edit is to revise or correct one's own writing or speech—catching errors, tightening prose, or reconsidering word choices before sharing work with others.
The term also applies to filtering oneself in conversation: I had to self-edit around my in-laws.
Writers who self-edit well need less outside revision.
