scullery
Kitchen's back room
A scullery is a small room adjoining a kitchen, used for washing dishes, storing cleaning supplies, and doing other messy household work.
The term is largely historical in American usage but remains current in British English, where older homes still have them: The maid scrubbed pots in the scullery.
