washing-up
Scrubbing dirty plates
Washing-up is British English for the task of cleaning dishes, pots, and utensils after a meal: I'll do the washing-up if you cook.
The term can also refer to the dirty items themselves: There's a pile of washing-up in the sink.
Americans typically say "doing the dishes" instead.
