scrobble

Record song play

Scrobble is to automatically record and share the music you listen to, tracking songs as they play.

The term originated with Last.fm, a music service that logs listening habits to generate recommendations and statistics: I've scrobbled over fifty thousand tracks since 2008.

The word has become generic for any music-tracking feature.
