school councils
Pupil advisory bodies
School councils are elected bodies of students, and sometimes parents or staff, that advise on school policies and activities.
They give students a voice in decisions affecting their education—from dress codes to event planning.
In some regions, school councils have formal authority over budgets or hiring; in others, they're purely advisory.
