sayeth
Archaic for speaks
Sayeth is an archaic third-person singular form of "say," found in the King James Bible and other early modern English texts: Thus sayeth the Lord.
The -eth ending was standard for he/she/it verbs before -s replaced it.
Now used only for biblical echo, mock solemnity, or humor: What sayeth the committee?
