sacred spring
Blessed water source
A sacred spring is a natural water source believed to have spiritual power or divine association.
Many cultures have venerated springs as holy sites, attributing healing properties or religious significance to their waters.
The term also refers to the Roman ritual *ver sacrum*, in which a community consecrated all offspring—human and animal—born in a particular spring season, later sending the young people to found new settlements.
