A robot army is a military force composed of autonomous or remotely controlled machines rather than human soldiers.
The term appears in science fiction depicting mechanized warfare, but also in serious discussions of military technology and the ethics of autonomous weapons.
Figuratively, robot army describes any large coordinated group of automated systems: an army of robots scanning the internet for vulnerabilities.
