roadsign

Directional traffic indicator

A roadsign is a marker placed along a road to convey information to drivers and pedestrians—speed limits, directions, warnings, or regulations.

Most roadsigns use standardized shapes and colors: red octagons for stop, yellow diamonds for caution, green rectangles for distance and direction.

Also spelled as two words: road sign.
