A rice dumpling is a bundle of glutinous rice wrapped in leaves and steamed or boiled, found across Asian cuisines.
The Chinese zongzi, wrapped in bamboo leaves and filled with meat or sweet bean paste, is traditional for the Dragon Boat Festival.
Other varieties include Japanese chimaki and Southeast Asian versions with coconut milk or banana leaves.
