resubstituting
Putting replacement back
Resubstituting is putting something back in place of something else, after a previous substitution.
The term appears most often in technical contexts—mathematics, chemistry, or programming—where a value or variable is substituted, manipulated, then substituted again: After solving for y, we're resubstituting into the original equation.
