putting back
Restoring to position
Putting back means returning something to its original position or place: She finished the book and started putting it back on the shelf.
It can also mean rescheduling to a later time: They're putting back the meeting until next week.
In drinking contexts, putting back means consuming, often in quantity: He was putting back beers all night.
