research notes
Scholarly working papers
Research notes are the written records a person keeps while investigating a topic—observations, quotations, references, and preliminary thoughts gathered during study.
They serve as raw material for later synthesis into formal writing or presentations.
Research notes may be highly organized or loosely jotted, depending on the researcher's method: I need to review my research notes before the meeting.
