relay switch
Electrically triggered gate
A relay switch is an electrically operated switch that uses a small current to control a larger one.
When current flows through the relay's electromagnet, it pulls a contact to open or close a separate circuit.
This allows low-power signals to safely control high-power devices: The relay switch activates the air conditioner when the thermostat signals.
Common in automotive systems, industrial controls, and home automation.
