reinjure

Damage anew, unfortunately

To reinjure is to injure again—to damage a body part that had previously been hurt and was healing or had healed: She reinjured her knee playing soccer just weeks after getting cleared by her doctor.

The word almost always refers to the same injury site, not a new one.
